45 North officially opens for business today, and a lucky few of us got a sneak preview of the new restaurant last night.

The changes to the space are immediately striking as soon as you walk into the hotel - the door to the restaurant has been moved several yards to the left, and a stylish red wall now exists where the old door used to be. The entire space is reminescent of a classic New England barn, right down to the walls, which were constructed from wood that was salvaged from the bottom of the Penobscot River.

The menus are simple but elegant (be sure to ask for the wine list - it comes on an iPad) and the food was incredible.
